I remember when I was young, I heard a story about how Indian football was a practice of black Magic and every country was afraid to play with them. That led to their ban from playing world football. I believed the story when I was young but not anymore lol.
After searching the web I found a reason.
India plays football. But, they aren’t that good at it. They are ranked 102 by FIFA. They have started their own league named “Indian Super League” to promote the football in India bringing the foreign talents and exploring the domestic talents.
Moreover, Cricket is more famous in India as they are one of the best teams in the world in cricket. They have lots of domestic leagues for cricket along with the world famous Indian Premier League.
well india do play football ots just that your country needs certain rank to enter in fifa and india is low in ranking of top teams also there are numerous leagues going on in india its just they arent that famous
INDIA does play football but the….quality of players need for the international mathces are very few….and the ISL is good initiative towards the future of Indian football

Countries usually have sports which the “goverment” backs and in India it’s hockey or cricket.
